<i>GuysWork</i>: Describing a school‐based healthy relationships program for adolescent boys and results from a pilot evaluation during COVID‐19

We describe GuysWork, a school-based healthy living program for adolescent boys, and share results from pilot evaluation in Nova Scotia, Canada, during COVID-19. The team hypothesized the would reduce loneliness, perceived stress, adherence to key traditional male gender role norms postprogram. A longitudinal cohort pre- postsurvey design was used. One-hundred fifty-two participants completed sections of UCLA Loneliness Scale, Perceived Stress Meanings Adolescent Male-Role Norms Scale (MAMS). Results were nonsignificant loneliness stress. MAMS statistically significant with medium effect size (r = −.26) but there are limitations study. This study GuysWork has resulted important lessons learned that will ensure forthcoming Atlantic Canada-wide robust evidence potential support need masculinity norm-changing work specifically boys schools.
